the process, in full
Diagnosis first. Correction second. Always a second linguist.
Here's exactly what happens between the moment you send us a document and the moment you get it back.
How it works
- 01
Tell us what you have.
Send your document, or describe it, through our quote form. Tell us whether it needs fixing, translating from scratch, or you're not sure — the form is built around that distinction. If you have a source document as well as an existing translation, send both.
- 02
We diagnose and price it.
A linguist reviews what you've sent. You'll get a fixed price and a plain-language explanation, usually within one business day.
- 03
A linguist does the work.
Once you approve the price, a linguist matched to your subject and language pair translates, corrects, or post-edits your content.
- 04
A second linguist checks it, then you get it back.
Before delivery, an independent second linguist reviews the work. You then have 14 days to request revisions, free of charge.
Why two linguists, not one
A single linguist, however good, can miss something in their own work — that's true of any field, not just translation. Every order at fixmytranslation passes through a second, independent linguist before it reaches you: someone who didn't do the original work, checking specifically for accuracy, terminology, and consistency. For certified documents andFix My Translation orders, this second review is a full independent pass; for lighter tiers, it's a quality check with the option to add a full independent second-linguist review for extra assurance.

Frequently asked questions
What happens if I don't approve the price?
Nothing — there's no obligation. If the quoted price doesn't work for you, you can simply not proceed. No work begins until you approve it.
Can I speak to the linguist working on my document?
We route communication through our team rather than direct linguist contact, so questions, revisions, and instructions don't get lost between emails — but any question you have for the linguist, we'll relay and answer.
What counts as a revision request?
Anything you believe is inaccurate, mistranslated, or doesn't match what you asked for. Revisions are for fixing what's wrong, not for open-ended rewrites of content that was translated correctly — we'll always tell you plainly if a request falls into the second category.
What happens after the 14-day window?
We're still reachable — email us and we'll take a look. But the free-revision guarantee specifically covers the 14 days after delivery; after that, further changes may be quoted as new work.
