Agreement
These Terms of Service govern your use of fixmytranslation.com and any language services you order from fixmytranslation ("we," "us," "fixmytranslation"), based at 1212 Larkin Ave, Elgin, IL 60123, USA. By requesting a quote, placing an order, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these terms.
Our services
We provide human-delivered translation, machine-translation post-editing, certified document translation, proofreading and editing, localization, and transcription and subtitling services, as described on this website. Prices, tiers, and turnaround times are published at fixmytranslation.com/pricing and on each service page and may be updated from time to time.
Quotes and acceptance
A price shown on this website, in our quote form's live estimate, or in initial correspondence is an estimate, not a binding quote, unless and until we confirm a fixed price in writing by email. Work begins only after you've approved that fixed price. Either party may decline to proceed before work begins, at no cost to you.
Your responsibilities
You're responsible for: providing source materials that are complete, legible, and accurate to your knowledge; telling us about any specific terminology, formatting, or submission requirements in advance; reviewing delivered work and raising any concerns within the 14-day revision window described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy; and not requesting translation of content that is unlawful, infringing, or that you don't have the right to have translated. We may decline any order at our discretion, including before or after a quote is given.
Delivery
We deliver completed work by email or another method agreed with you, within the turnaround confirmed at quote time. Turnaround begins once we've received your complete source materials and your approval of the price.
Revisions
Every order includes free revisions requested within 14 days of delivery, for corrections to accuracy, completeness, or agreed specifications. Revisions are for fixing errors or unmet requirements, not for open-ended changes to content that was translated or corrected as requested. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for full detail.
Certified translations
A certified translation from fixmytranslation includes a signed, dated certificate of translation accuracy describing the translation as complete and accurate to the linguist's best ability. We do not guarantee that any specific government agency, court, school, employer, or other third party will accept a certified translation — acceptance requirements are set by the receiving party, and we recommend confirming them before you order.
Intellectual property
You retain ownership of your source materials. Once you've paid in full for an order, you own the translated or corrected deliverable. We retain no rights to use your content beyond what's needed to deliver your order, except as otherwise agreed in writing.
Confidentiality
We treat your documents as confidential, as described in our Privacy Policy. We'll sign a non-disclosure agreement on request before work begins, at no charge.
Limitation of liability
We provide our services with the skill and care of a professional translation agency, but we don't guarantee that a translation will achieve a particular legal, commercial, or administrative outcome (such as visa approval or contract enforceability). To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or our services will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Kane County, Illinois, and you consent to that venue.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date above reflects the most recent version. Continued use of our services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
