Refund & Cancellation Policy
How cancellations, refunds, and revisions work, in plain terms.
Last updated: August 5, 2026
We want you to feel confident ordering from us before you've spent anything. Here's exactly how cancellations, refunds, and revisions work.
Before work begins
You may cancel your order at no charge any time before we've confirmed your fixed price and you've approved it, or before a linguist has been assigned to begin work — whichever is earlier. If you've already paid at this stage, we'll refund you in full.
After work has started
Once a linguist has begun translating, correcting, or post-editing your order, cancelling incurs a 50% fee, reflecting the work already completed — unless we haven't yet started your specific document (for example, if you ordered multiple documents and work has only begun on some of them, in which case the fee applies only to those). We'll always tell you honestly whether work has started before charging a cancellation fee.
After delivery
Once your order has been delivered, it is not eligible for a refund. Instead, our 14-day revision policy applies: tell us within 14 days of delivery what's wrong, and we'll revise it at no additional charge. Revisions are for fixing inaccuracies, omissions, or unmet specifications — not for open-ended changes to content that was translated or corrected as requested.
Certified translations specifically
Once a signed certificate of translation accuracy has been issued and delivered, the certificate itself cannot be revoked or refunded, because it's a record we've formally issued. If the underlying translation contains an error, the 14-day revision policy applies in full — we'll correct it and reissue the certificate at no charge. Notarization and mailed hard-copy fees are non-refundable once the notarization has taken place or the copy has been mailed.
Rush and same-day fees
If we're unable to hold a confirmed rush or same-day deadline due to a delay on our side, we'll refund the rush or same-day surcharge, even if the underlying translation is still delivered. If a deadline is missed because source materials or approvals arrived late from your side, standard turnaround and pricing apply instead.
How to request a cancellation, refund, or revision
Email support@fixmytranslation.com with your reference code (found in your quote confirmation) and what you're requesting. We aim to respond within one business day.
Disputes
If you believe a charge or a declined refund request was made in error, tell us within 30 days of the charge and we'll review it. Beyond that window, charges are considered final absent a legal obligation to the contrary.
