Frequently asked questions

What exactly do I get with a certified translation?

Your translated document plus a signed, dated certificate of translation accuracy, stating that the translation is complete and accurate to the linguist's best ability. It's delivered as a PDF, with a mailed hard copy available as an add-on.

Will this be accepted by the office I'm submitting to?

We can tell you exactly what we provide — the translation and a signed certificate of accuracy. Acceptance requirements vary by the specific office or institution you're submitting to, so we recommend confirming their requirements (certified vs. notarized, digital vs. mailed) before you order — we're glad to help you figure out what to ask.

What's the difference between certified and notarized?

A certified translation includes our signed certificate of accuracy. A notarized certified translation adds a notary public's stamp confirming the signature on that certificate — it doesn't mean the translation itself is more accurate, just that the signature is notarized. Some receiving offices require notarization; most don't.

How many pages is my document?

We count one page as up to 250 words. A typical birth certificate or diploma is usually one page; longer documents like transcripts may be more. Send it over and we'll confirm the page count in your quote.

Can I get a physical copy mailed to me?

Yes — a mailed hard copy (US addresses) is available as an add-on alongside your PDF.

Need a document accepted, not just translated?
