Who we are
fixmytranslation ("we," "us") is a translation agency based at 1212 Larkin Ave, Elgin, IL 60123, USA. This policy explains what personal information we collect through fixmytranslation.com, why, and how you can control it.
Information we collect
When you request a quote, contact us, or use our website, we collect:
- Your name, email address, and — if you choose to provide them — phone number and company name.
- Details about the document or project you're requesting: source and target language, subject area, format, volume, turnaround, and any notes you provide.
- File names, when you attach files to a quote request. (The files themselves are not uploaded through this website — see "How quote requests are sent," below.)
- Website usage information collected by Google Analytics, only if you've consented to analytics cookies (see our Cookie Policy).
How quote requests are sent
Our quote form does not upload files to a server. When you submit a request, it opens a pre-filled email in your own email application — or, if we've configured a dedicated form-delivery service, sends your submission directly to that service — addressed to support@fixmytranslation.com, containing the details you entered and the names of any files you selected. You then send your actual files to us separately, by reply email or another method we agree on.
Why we use this information
- To prepare and send you a price quote.
- To communicate with you about your order, request, or question.
- To deliver the language services you've ordered.
- To understand, in aggregate, how visitors use our website — only with analytics consent — so we can improve it.
Document confidentiality
Documents and files you send us in connection with an order are treated as confidential. Access is limited to the linguist assigned to your order and, where our two-linguist quality process applies, the linguist reviewing it. We do not share your documents outside your project. We'll sign a non-disclosure agreement on request, at no charge, before work begins. You may ask us to delete your files at any time; once your order is complete, we delete files on request.
Retention
We retain quote and order correspondence, and any files you've sent us, for as long as reasonably necessary to deliver your order, handle any revision request within our 14-day revision window, and meet our own recordkeeping needs — and no longer than that unless you ask us to keep something for a specific reason (for example, so we can match terminology on a future order). You can ask us to delete your information or files at any time by emailing support@fixmytranslation.com.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties except: a form-delivery or email service that transmits your quote request to us, if one is configured, acting only on our instructions; Google, as our analytics provider, only if you've consented to analytics cookies; or where required by law.

Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of certain uses. To exercise any of these rights, email support@fixmytranslation.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time.
Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
